Yes. Like most professional keratins, ChocoMax contains formaldehyde (listed on the label). That's why we recommend applying it in a ventilated space or with an extractor, using protection during application, and doing a skin allergy test if you have sensitive skin.

Yes! ChocoMax is excellent for chemically treated hair because it helps seal the cuticle, prolong color, and repair damage.

The 32 oz size yields 8 to 12 applications. The 16 oz size yields 4 to 6 applications, depending on hair length and volume.

Yes, you can wash your hair the same day. The keratin is already fixed inside the cuticle by the heat of the flat iron and blow dryer, so it doesn't need days to set. We only recommend waiting 20 minutes after the procedure before washing, for safety (to let the scalp cool down after constant heat), and using sulfate-free shampoo.

Use sulfate-free shampoo to prolong the results. Sulfates remove the keratin effect more quickly.

Yes. A professional flat iron at 380°F – 450°F is recommended to properly seal the treatment.
